My Dad Is A Geek! (MDIAG!) was inspired by a t-shirt in an Ocean City, NJ boardwalk shop in 2007, but the concept for the site had grown roots more than a year prior.

With MDIAG!, we aim to promote the use of technology and popular culture to raise our children in ways that are not only entertaining, but productive and educational as well. We encourage sharing the things with our children that make us geeks happy in ways that are age-appropriate for them. We want to promote positive short- and long-term development with our children in ways which may be unconventional to the mainstream but in line with our own personal upbringing and interests.

MDIAG! caters to parents of toddlers, preschoolers and school-aged children, ages 1 to 10. The staff of MDIAG! will provide news commentary and original content to its readers on topics which interest parents who are also geeks, as well as communicate how these topics can be shared with their children. We hope to create indelible bonds between parents and their children by facilitating involvement in activities and subjects both are passionate about, ultimately resulting in happy, healthy families.
